October 12: Regensberg, Germany

(Founded in 1244, still has parts of an original medieval castle and bridge)

October 11: Passau, Germany


Passau, Germany









Highlight of Passau was the St. Stephan Cathedral with the 2nd Largest Organ in the World with 18,000 Pipes



(This turned into mostly a shopping trip for items we needed: lighter clothes, USB drives, etc.)






















October 10: Durnstein & Melk Austria


Durnstein

King Richard the Lionheart Kidnapped and Held at Durstein Castle 1192-1194 by  Duke Leopold of Austria. He was released upon payment of a ransom of 100,000 pounds of silver.


The Castle, Destroyed by Swedish Troops in 1645, during the 30 Years War
